The IPMA has established valuable connections with numerous legal, legal management, and paralegal associations. Through these partnerships, we engage in collaborative efforts to share resources, exchange best practices, and stay informed about industry news and developments. This section of our website provides links to various law-related associations, offering members access to a wealth of relevant information.
Furthermore, the IPMA proudly co-sponsors the annual Legal C-Suite Summit in collaboration with esteemed industry association partners. These partners include the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA), the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), and The National Association for Law Placement (NALP)—The Association for Legal Career Professionals. Together, we organize and facilitate this summit, creating a platform for meaningful discussions and knowledge-sharing among legal professionals in leadership roles.
These collaborative endeavors demonstrate our commitment to fostering connections, promoting professional growth, and advancing the legal management field. By engaging with our association partners and participating in events such as the Legal C-Suite Summit, IPMA members have the opportunity to expand their networks, gain insights, and contribute to the advancement of the legal profession as a whole.
ABA Site Visits
The IPMA supports quality paralegal education through its involvement with the Standing Committee on Paralegals of the American Bar Association (ABA-SCOP). The ABA-SCOP develops and promotes policies relating to the education, employment, training, and effective use of paralegals. Through its Approval Commission, the ABA-SCOP serves as the body to set standards for paralegal education. The Standing Committee monitors trends in the field and recommends for approval and reapproval to the House of Delegates (the ABA's policy-making body) those paralegal training programs that have met the standards and guidelines set by the ABA for quality paralegal education.
The IPMA holds a seat on the Approval Commission. Members of the Association are often called upon to assist the commission with its site visit process for program approvals and reapprovals.
Members who have an interest in serving on a site visit team should review the ABA Site Visit FAQs, view the ABA Site Visit Webinar, and contact IPMA headquarters to be placed on the list provided to ABA-SCOP.
